The Siege

Conceived for the exhibition Behind Walls that took place in Leeuwarden on September 2008, The Siege is a project on Sarajevo’s snipers alley: 15 kilometres that connect the village of Butmir with downtown.
This is the route thousands of Bosnians walked through during the Serbian siege of Sarajevo to reach the underground tunnel that was the only way out of the town and the source of medications, food, weapons.
Under gun machines and shells, under enemy fire.
